Charline (22 years old), German Volunteer:

“Before coming here and working as a volunteer for Oportunidad Educativa, I lived in Berlin, the capital of Germany. I was finishing my studies to be a bilingual secretary. I feel that I have a good life and before entering the job market, I wanted to volunteer to share the luck that I have had in my life with others. Here I have had the opportunity to know young people and work with them. It makes me happy to see the scholarship students learning new things in their English class, simply enjoying their time together or for things that we were able to give them. They were very curious when they met me because I come from another country. I told them a lot about Germany and they taught me about Córdoba. Aside from teaching them English, I organized different projects for them. Through this I learned a lot about the organization of projects, internal and external communication of organizations, and having responsibility that others are relaying on you for. In this way my volunteer service here has also helped me gain jobs skills for my future."
